the preparation of this festival stars from the day of another festival,RATHA YATRA.That is the day when the potters starts to frame the structure of goddesses, four months before the final days of celebration.
I can remember ,I used to go to potters' colony to see how carefully they put the layer of soil.We used to play with old aluminium weapons of the goddess.At some time we also tried our hand in mud and ended up making small replicas of our favourite goddess.
The festival means a lot to young Bengali's.I felt that first time as I turned sixteen.That is when I smelled the essence of festival alone.Tasty sweets, marvellous sounds of Bengali music,beautiful woman in colorful dresses , romantic dreams and ideas around the environments were just fabulous.On the day of Emerson this environment got two times energetic.We use to be in the mood of dancing & singing as we spent few last hours with bengali soul festive sentiment,DURGAA PUJA.................
